Your 1:1 session is on a beautiful, privately owned horse farm located about 20 minutes away from Concord NH.
You will receive the address and driving directions with your confirmed reservation.
We'll be doing a set of hands-on, experiential exercises with the horse designed to help you relax your body and mind while having a deep connection with the horse.
The session is quiet and meditative - from the outside, it just looks like you're hanging out and enjoying some nice time with the horse. On the inside, you'll have time to simply be and escape all the mental chatter. You'll feel grounded and in the moment.
Many people comment on how profound and deeply peaceful the experience is when they are done.
Please wear comfortable, appropriate clothing for the weather. Closed toe shoes are required - sneakers work just fine. This is a barn so expect dirt, water, horse poop - wear things you're okay with getting dirty or dusty.
I also recommend you leave jewelry and watches in the car or at home. Horses can be curious and having horse slobber on your expensive Apple watch would be a bummer!
We'll be outside for the duration of our session - bring drinks, snacks, sunscreen, etc as you need. A camp chair can be handy. A journal and pen is nice if you want to reflect or write down anything after your experience.
Yes, we use horses that are gentle and predictable. These are the same horses we trust with children and beginners in the lesson and summer camp programs at the barn. All of the horses I use have experience with this work and I know them to be safe with non-horse people.
Both horse and participant need to feel comfortable for the session to be effective. We will go over basic safety around horses before we have any hands on interaction. There are many ways we can work with the horses so you get the full experience without feeling overwhelmed or frightened. I will be right next to you the entire time - if at any time you are uncomfortable, we will stop and discuss what works best for you for the session.
I will check the weather forecast the day before and notify you if we need to cancel. Weather related cancellations from me will be rescheduled or refunded. If we have some cloudy weather or the forecast for rain is 50% or less, we'll go ahead with the session.
During our session, no phones or videos please. You'll be 100% focused on what you're doing. I'm happy to take photos with you and your horse after we're done.
Unfortunately no.
From a practical standpoint, it's awkward and distracting having people watch you during your session. This is like getting a massage or a spa treatment - it's your time.
And ... insurance and legal. This is an active working farm with vehicles, farm equipment and horse activity around the barn. There are no places for guests or kids to hang out safely.
I do offer group sessions for up to 4 people if your friends, family, or significant other want to participate.
